Ep. 75 - SEO Method Pt. 1
If you're a spa owner who's ever typed "How do I rank higher on Google" into a search bar at eleven at night, you're not alone. Getting found online can feel like one more overwhelming task on a list that's already too long, right up there with payroll and restocking retail. The good news: it doesn't have to be complicated, and it doesn't have to cost you anything.
A few years ago, a simple weekly method changed how findable my spa was on Google — and it's still working today, though the landscape underneath it has quietly shifted. Here's what every spa owner needs to know heading into 2026.
The Engine That Still Works
The core of this method hasn't changed: every week, you go live on Instagram or Facebook and answer one real client question in sixty to ninety seconds. Then you download that video, upload it to YouTube, write a short blog post with the video embedded at the top, and send a weekly email linking back to it. That's the whole system — one question, one video, one blog post, one email, every week.
Finding the questions is easier than it sounds. Map out your promotions for the year (early fall is a great time to do this), then use Google's "People Also Search For" feature to find exactly what your future clients are already typing in. Your spa's content calendar is essentially handed to you for free.
Why Specificity Is the New Currency for Spa Owners
Here's what's genuinely different in 2026: more and more Google searches now get answered by an AI-generated summary before a single website link ever shows up. That means the goal for your spa business isn't just to rank anymore — it's to get quoted inside that summary.
And the businesses getting quoted aren't the ones playing it safe with vague marketing language. They're the ones being specific — real pricing, real procedure details, their real city. A generic "yes, we offer facials, contact us for pricing" gets skipped. A specific answer, with real numbers and real detail, gets cited.
For any spa team building out content, this is actually good news: the habit of answering one real, specific client question a week was already built for exactly this moment.
Own What You Can't Lose
If there's one mindset shift every spa owner should walk away with, it's this: you own your website, you own your email list, and you do not own your social media following. That's always been true, but it matters more now, because your website and Google Business Profile are literally what feeds the AI systems deciding whether your spa gets mentioned at all.
Every blog post you publish is one more brick in a foundation that belongs entirely to your spa business — not rented from a platform that can change its rules overnight.
